Woodland Civic Approved for Gaming Applications for gaming have been approved by both the State and local governments and the Association now holds all necessary licenses and permits to hold our fall Fundraising event.

Probation Office opening soon Unfortunately, this office is scheduled to open in July or August. We will monitor any negative effects as closely as possible. It remains our belief that the location of this office is improper. The Freeholders decision to place this office so close to private residences is disappointing to say the least. We feel the concentration of persons convicted of drug violations, sexual offenses and similar crimes poses a threat to persons, businesses and private property.

Cherry Hill Township owns the approximately 16 acre wooded area between the Park and the new Probation Office. We have recently learned from the Mayors office "that this property was identified in our Affordable Housing reviews, and that the State has itemized it as a priority site for potential development as affordable housing." We have addressed this issue with Council and will be formally requesting that these woods remain permanent open space for a continuing habitat for wildlife and future generations of residents to enjoy Firehouse plans to build in Buffer Zone Canceled!
After four well-attended meetings concerning the
proposed building of a new Fire Station on a parcel originally intended
to buffer local residents from development of the old Race Track
property, Chief Robert Giorgio and the Fire Commissioners have decided
to seek a better location for the new unit. Association President Tony
Faiola has pledged that any assistance the WCA could give to the Cherry Hill Fire
Department in their search for a better location in the area would
gladly be provided. For more on this story click here.
Crime in our neighborhoods. Monthly Crime Reports are being supplied by the Cherry Hill Police Department. Community Relations Officer John Moyer of the Cherry Hill Police Department compiles monthly statistics throughout the Township. Read about our area under Woodland Crime Stats in sidebar link. Woodland Meets about lights with Nissan General Manager On Monday, April 7th Satjeet Khalsa and John Moffett of Woodland Civic met with Cherry Hill Nissan General Manager Bob Miller at their storage lot located on Chapel Avenue next to the bridge. The property was walked and it was pointed out to Mr. Miller that the eight pole lights were too strong and were projecting into the surrounding homes, causing complaints from the residents. Mr. Miller promised to look into reducing or redirecting the lights so as not to interfere with the residents enjoyment of their homes. He also mentioned that the current lights, which cost several hundred dollars more that what they were going to put in, were mandated by the Township to fit in with the appearance of the fence. We look forward to a substantial change to these lights as the Township ordinances actually dictate that all lights are to be directed INWARD toward the property.
Ongoing Membership Drive
The Woodland Civic Association has an ongoing membership drive. There are challenges facing our area that are in need of the attention by neighbors who care about the street they live, in a community we can be proud of.
Our current leadership is involved in projects that include improving municipal services, preventing commercial intrusion into residential zones, and influencing capital projects that will better serve our area.
Recently many beautiful new homes have been built or are under construction in the section of the township covered by the Woodland Civic Association. Our population has grown denser, thus our voice at Town Hall should grow stronger.
We support homeowners in need of our help to deal with situations that threaten and disrupt the peace and tranquility we have enjoyed for many years.
Join us to keep our area well represented. We welcome you to attend our meetings to get the facts about the issues. Hear what your neighbors have to say. If you want your voice to be heard, please attend our meetings.
Get to know all your neighbors and show how we can stand together.
